Kevin Swanepool, The One Club: “The creative idea is still king, but today’s solutions are technological”

Kevin Swanepool is the Chief Executive Officer of the American non-profit organization The One Club for Creativity, which stands behind some of the most prestigious awards in the advertising industry, The One Show. In 2023, the European design and advertising association Art Directors Club of Europe (ADCE) became part of The One Club for Creativity, with the goal of promoting the work of more professionals and agencies in Europe and the United States.

For more than 27 years, Kevin Swanepool has held leadership positions in the advertising industry. He has been a creative director, owned his own agency, and worked in Apple’s communications department. He has been part of The One Club since 1996, where he has developed a number of new competitions under the organization’s umbrella, aiming to ensure that strong creative ideas are recognized and promoted. We spoke with Kevin Swanepool during the ADCE creative event and competition, which took place at the end of November in Barcelona.

Earlier this year, he was part of the lecture program at FARA, the largest creative advertising festival, organized by the Bulgarian Association of Communication Agencies (BACA). BACA is a member of ADCE, and under the new structure, winners of the ADCE Awards will now have access to The One Club’s global creative rankings.
