In the Bulgarian Association of Communication Agencies (BACA), there are full members and associate members.
Full Members
Full members of the Association may be legal entities that meet the following requirements:
A/ They must be duly registered under the Commercial Act within the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria;
B/ Their main activity must be marketing communications and advertising, which must account for at least 90% of their revenue;
C/ They must demonstrate a proven high professional level in providing communication services;
D/ They must not hold ownership in media companies or in companies that are their clients, and vice versa;
E/ They must have a good reputation among the business community, the general public, and government institutions;
F/ They must be capable of creating, organizing, and executing communication campaigns on a national scale;
G/ They must employ at least five (5) full-time staff members;
H/ They must have at least three (3) independent clients, and the advertising budget entrusted to the agency by any single client must not exceed 50% of the agency’s total turnover;
I/ They must have been registered in Bulgaria for at least 12 months prior to the date of submitting their membership application.
Full members of the Association are admitted by the General Assembly, based on a written application from the candidate, in which they declare acceptance of the provisions of the Association’s Statutes. The following documents must be attached to the application:
A/ Written recommendations from at least two (2) legal entities, full members of the Association, who present the candidate to the General Assembly;
B/ A declaration confirming compliance with the requirements of Article 6, paragraph 1 of the BACA Statutes, along with any supporting documents verifying the truthfulness of the declarations;
C/ A certificate of current legal status;
D/ A declaration that the candidate accepts and will comply with the Statutes and Ethical Code of the Association.
(2) The application must be submitted to the Management Board no later than seven (7) days before the scheduled date of the General Assembly meeting.
(3) All applications submitted before a scheduled General Assembly meeting shall be presented to the full members of the Association at least three (3) days prior to the meeting.
Associate Members
Associate members of the Association may be sole traders (ET), individuals, or legal entities that do not meet the requirements for full membership but whose activities are part of the full advertising service cycle provided to clients. They must demonstrate a high professional level in their offered services and have a good reputation among the business community, the general public, and government institutions.
Associate members of the Association are admitted by the Management Board based on a written application from the candidate, in which they declare acceptance of the provisions of the Association’s Statutes. The following documents must be attached to the application:
A/ Written recommendations from two (2) legal entity members of the Association;
B/ A declaration confirming compliance with the requirements of Article 6, paragraph 3 of the BACA Statutes, along with any supporting documents verifying the truthfulness of the declarations;
C/ A certificate of current legal status;
D/ A declaration that the candidate accepts and will comply with the Statutes and Ethical Code of the Association.
(5) The application shall be reviewed by the Management Board within 14 days after its submission. The Management Board may take its decision during a meeting held via video conference, which shall be documented in the official minutes.
